Our Commitment
North & Vine is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to our website and the websites we build for our clients.
Conformance Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. Conformance with these guidelines helps ensure that the website is accessible to people with a range of disabilities including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these.
Measures We Take
North & Vine takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:
- Include accessibility as a core requirement in our design and development process
- Write semantic, standards-compliant HTML
- Provide sufficient color contrast ratios throughout the site
- Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard accessible
- Include descriptive alt text for meaningful images
- Use ARIA landmarks and labels where appropriate
- Test with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation
- Maintain a logical heading structure and reading order
- Ensure forms include properly associated labels and clear error messages
Compatibility
Our website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software
- Keyboard-only navigation
Our site is designed to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, some content may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively working to identify and resolve any accessibility barriers. Specific known limitations include:
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these and provide accessible alternatives upon request.
- Third-party embedded content (such as analytics dashboards or external widgets) may not fully meet accessibility standards.
